Jan Rosenberg celebrates and his fans celebrate with him after the Morris Knolls sophomore defeated Hopatcong's Joe Cruz, 3-1, in their District 2 championship bout at 103 at Hopatcong High School on Saturday, Feb. 20. Rosenberg, the No. 2 seed, defeated No. 3 seed Matt Benvenuto, 3-2, in the semifinal to reach the title bout. Rosenberg, now 30-3 for the season, was also named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. Mike Eagen, Knolls Class of 2006, greets Jan Rosenberg after Rosenberg won the District 2 title. Eagen was a three-time district champ, two-time region champ and finished seventh in the state in his senior year.

It's between bouts now and the Knolls fans are quiet ... but ready to roar with delight for the next Eagle to take the mat.
