Denville PAL Girls Softball Junior Division All-Stars: Two players were chosen from each of the six teams in the Denville PAL Softball Recreation Junior Division for an All-Star team and that team played an All-Star team from Rockaway Township at Gardner Field in Denville on Monday, June 14, and earned a 13-9 victory. The team consisted of, front row, left to right: Jessica Zablatsky, Haley Driscoll, Caroline Sceurman, Carly Rimsky, Carly Bouman and Katie Clancy; middle row: Melissa Mutz, Christina Punzo, Kristen Onorati, Sophie Fischer, Justine Caniglia and Jessica Onorati; back row: All-Star coaches Howard Alexander, Kevin Mahn, P.J. Heller, Glenn Sola and Shari Verrone. Sceurman, Fischer and Onorati pitched for Denville in a game that was as entertaining as it was well played.

Westenberger Mechanical Junior Softball: For the second straight season, Westenberger Mechanical won both the regular-season and playoff championships in the 2010 Denville PAL Girls Softball Rec League's Junior Division. Westenberger, which finished 9-2-1, was seeded No. 1 in the post-season tournament, where it beat No. 2 Painten Place, 8-6, for the title. ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP TEAMS UP WITH DENVILLE: The Denville and Rockaway Township 8th-grade girls travel basketball teams played a mini-game exhibition as part of the Morris Knolls Youth Day program  in front of an enthusiastic half-time crowd at the Morris Knolls-Jefferson girls varsity game at Morris Knolls on Friday, Jan. 8. The Rockaway Township Lady Rockets:  This 8th-grade girls travel team finished its 2009-2010 season with a 26-6 overall record. The Rockets won the Passaic Valley League regular-season title with a 14-0 record and came in second in three tournaments - a pre-season tourney, the PVL post-season tourney and a tournament The Lady Rockets hosted to end the season. The Denville PAL Demons 5th-grade travel girls basketball team won the playoff championship of the Garden State Basketball League on Monday, March 22, 2010, with a 25-24 overtime victory over Madison at Madison Middle School in Madison. ST. MARY'S RULES: The St. Mary’s School of Denville varsity girls basketball team won the Morris Catholic Basketball League’s regular-season and post-season championships for the 2009-2010 season, finishing the regular season with a 16-2 record and then winning all three playoff games to finish the season with a 19-2 overall  record. The team is made up of  6th, 7th and 8th-grade girls and consists of, front row, left to right: Sydney Bliss and Megan Powlen; second row: Marisa Rodek and Tina Deluna; third row: Alicia Deluna, Katie Clancy, Sam Yagozinski, Ashley Luca, Rachel Mills, Marcella Franklin, Anastasia Baier and Sue Baier; back row: coaches Susan Mills and Erik Franklin. Samantha Steele, one of the players, missed the photo shoot.

DENVILLE HUB DIAMONDS U14 GIRLS: The Diamonds finished their best season in club history with a 22-4-2 record in the Fall of 2009. The team won its flight in the Morris County Youth Soccer Assocition; won the Jersey American Girls League's title; won the Parsippany Pride Tournament; and reached the semifinals of the State Cup.      ANOTHER TITLE FOR BLUE DEVILS: The unbeaten Denville Blue Devils 12U softball team completed its fall season in the Jefferson Fall Travel League recently by successfully defending the championship they won last fall. The Blue Devils posted a 12-0 record in the 13-team league. It was the Blue Devils second league title for 2009 as they also won the Denville Summer Travel League title with by winning 11 of 13 games. The team, shown above left to right, is made up of Samantha Caby, coach Vince Castelluzzo, Sarah Hill, Kelsey Hanson, Mia Baldassari, Sarah Houtsma, Chelsea Fischer, Marina Castelluzzo, coach Rob Hill, Madison Beumee, Mary Schreck, Emily Wisneski, coach Mike Hanson, Kelly Dzialo, Raelyn Giansanti and coach Gary Beumee.

The Morris Hills High School varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams (above), the Morris Knolls varsity girls soccer team (below) and the Morris Knolls junior varsity girls soccer team (photos inside) were 'Thinking Pink' in the fall of 2009 as the three teams raised a combined total of $1,800 for various Breast Cancer Awareness foundations. The Hills volleyball teams raised more than $700 when they participated in the Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally in October. The Lady Knights held a bake sale, sold pink shirts and pink paper volleyballs and accepted donations from fans attending one of the games during the past season. The Morris Knolls soccer team players had their hair 'streaked' with pink with the varsity (below) going to Kristina Michelle's Salon in Hackettstown and the junior varsity players went to Salon Chiani of Dover. SOFTBALL CHAMPIONS: The Denville Blue Devils 14U travel softball team won the Denville Summer League playoff championship by defeating Lincoln Park, 3-0, in the title game. After posting a league-best 11-1 regular-season record, the Blue Devils entered the post-season playoffs as the tournament's top seed.The Blue Devils brew a first-round bye and then defeated Chatham, 5-0, in a semifinal-round game  to reach the championship game.
