Barrett, Miller lead way as Renegades win, 8-5 -
ROCKAWAY TWP. - Jamie Barrett and Kyliegh Miller each scored two goals when the Lady Renegades 7th/8th-grade Gold lacrosse team defeated Montville, 8-5, in a game played at Camp Dawson Field in Montville on Wednesday, April 27. RockDen broke out on top early and never lost its lead as the Lady Renegades improved their spring record to 2-1-1. Erika Scarifati had a goal and an assist and Megan McDonnell, Denise Zieba and Tito Adeltula each scored one goal for the Lady Renegades. The goals for Zieba and Adeultula were their first career goals as Renegades. Michelle DAlessio, Lexi Finn and Shannon Turer each had assists to complete the RockDen scoring. Coutney Miller was in goal for the Lady Renegades and she finished with 10 saves. The RockDen coaches pointed out that Dina Cicchine, Shalyn Clavell and Christina DiGiovanna had solid games on defense in support of Miller and middle defenders Rachel Mills and Finn came up with several key steals during the game. --- Barrett scores twice in 7-5 win over Mtn. Lakes ROCKAWAY TWP. - Jamie Barrett scored two goals and five other Lady Renegades each scored once when the RockDen 7th/8th-grade Gold lacrosse team held off Mountain Lakes, 7-5, at RVA Field in Boonton Township on Monday, April 25, 2011. Kyliegh Miller had one goal and two assists; Shannon Turer, Rachel Mills, Erika Scarfati and Shalyn Chavell each added goals; and Michelle DAlessio had an assist for the Lady Renegades. Lexi Finn was in goal for the entire game for RockDen and she finished with seven saves, including four in the second half when the Lady Lakers had a 4-2 edge in goals. "We moved the ball well in the first half and were able to jump out to an impressive 5-1 lead," said Lady Renegade head coach Anthony Finn after the game. "Lakes made a little charge in the second half but our defense and Lexi were able to hold them off."
