Blauner, Dolan hat tricks
help D-Team beat Sparta

ROCKAWAY TWP. - Brianna Blauner and Erin Dolan each had three-goal hat tricks and Jacie Cooper scored two goals and finished with three assists as the RockDen Lady Renegades 7-8 D-Team defeated Sparta, 12-8, in a game played at Sparta on Sunday, June 13.
Jillian Wolf also scored twice for the Lady Renegades while Casey Lyness and Molly Reichhard each scored once.
Sarah Parente, Ally Black and Jamie Barrett each finished with one assist.
Brianna Valleta had a busy day with 14 saves and drew post-game raves from her opponents for her performance in the RockDen cages.
The game was the spring-season finale for the RockDen 7th/8th D-Team.

Lady Renegades go 3-1 in 'mini-game' tourney
ROCKAWAY TWP. - The RockDen Lady Renegades 7th/8th D-Team lost the first of its four youth lacrosse mini-games played at Morris Catholic High School this past Sunday, May 23, but came back strong and won its last three with the highlight game of the day a hard-fought 6-5 decision over Mountain Lakes.
The Lady Renegades lost to Long Valley, 6-3, in the opening game with Stephanie Hughes scoring two goals and Candi Tanis one to account for the goals and Shayna McMahon, Sarah Parente and Jamie Barrett each adding assists. Samantha Stanziale was in goal for RockDen and she finished with five saves.
Brianna Blauner scored two goals as RockDen beat Glen Rock, 6-4, in the second 22-minute mini-game. Allie Cerbone, Ally Black, Erin Dolan and Jacie Cooper each scored once and Giula Vitolo, Brooke Fuertges and Barrett each finished with four assists. Lexi Finn was in goal and she finished with four saves.
In the third game - the one-goal victory over Mountain Lakes - Erin Dolan scored three goals, Black scored twice and Cooper added one goal in a game highlighted by an intense effort on groundballs and a fierce defense on the part of the Lady Renegades. Kristen McCauley, Hughes and Cerbone had assists and Lexi Finn held off the Lakers' potent offensive attack by making nine saves.
The final mini-game was a 4-2 victory over West Jersey, a game that saw Taylor Madden score two goals for her first goals of the season. Shanya McMahon and Tanis each scored one goal and Carly Thomas had an assist. Stanziale was in goal for the Lady Renegades and she stopped six of the eight shots she faced.
The Lady Renegades D-Team won't play again until Sunday, June 13, when the girls travel to Sparta to face Sparta in a 10 a.m. game.

RockDen 1-2-1 in four-game mini-tournament
ROCKAWAY TWP. - The RockDen Lady Renegades 7th/8th grade D-Team participated in a four-game "mini tournament" at Morris Catholic High School on Sunday, May 16, and finished the day with one win, two losses and a tie against what head coach Doug Dolan calls "... four top girls lacrosse programs."
With each "mini game" lasting 22 minutes, the Lady Renegades opened play with a 6-3 loss to Long Valley and then were shut out, 6-0, by West Windsor.
The Lady Renegades came back to battle West Essex to a 3-3 tie and then ended the day with a 4-2 victory over Sparta.
Against Long Valley, Brianna Blauner scored twice and Erin Dolan added a goal. Jacie Cooper got the only assist for the Lady Renegades and goaltender Samantha Stanziale finished the game with five saves.
Lexi Finn turned aside six shots on goal in the West Windsor game.
Ally Black got a goal and an assist in the tie with West Essex. Molly Reichhard and Jamie Barrett also scored goals and Jillian Wolf, Allie Cerbone and Stephanie Hughes had assists. Finn was in goal for RockDen and finished with seven saves.
In the victory over Sparta, Blauner again scored two goals while Dolan and Candi Tanis each added one. Hughes had the Lady Renegades' only assist and Stanziale finished with five saves.
"All four teams are good teams from solid programs," Dolan said. "The girls hung tough through all the games and ended the day with a strong finish in beating Sparta.
The D-Team has another four-game mini-tournament scheduled for Sunday, May 23, at Morris Catholic. The action starts at 9 a.m. and the opponents are Glen Rock, DelVal, Mountain Lakes and Long Valley.

Lady Renegades lose two, tie one at 'Festival'
ROCKAWAY TWP. - The Lady Renegades 7th/8th D-Team participated in a Sunday Festival at Morris Catholic High School on Sunday, May 2, and came away with an 8-7 loss to Montclair in a full game; a 10-3 loss to Summit in a mini-game; and a 3-3 tie with Ridgewood in another mini-game.
RockDen held a 5-2 lead at the half but Montclair had a strong second-half comeback to outscore the Lady Renegades, 6-2, and escape with its one-goal victory.
Ally Black scored two goals and had two assists for the Lady Renegades; Brianna Blauner also had two goals; and Jillian Wolf, Jamie Barrett and Erin Dolan each added a single goal.
Black finished with two assists and Sarah Parente and Allie Cerbone each had one.
Lexi Finn was in goal and finished the game with eight saves.
In the loss to Summit, Blauner scored twice and Casey Lyness once while Stephanie Hughes, Cerbone and Tanis each had an assist. Finn finished with 10 saves in this one.
Dolan, Hughes and Blauner each scored a goal and Black had one assist in the tie against Ridgewood. Samantha Stanziale was in goal for this mini-game and she finished with seven saves and got plenty of help from the defensive group in front of her, namely Kristen McCauley, Shayna McMahon, Taylor Madden, Giulia Vitolo and Finn.
"It was a hot day, but our girls never let down," said head coach Doug Dolan after the game. "Ridgefield is one of the top girls lacrosse programs in the state, too, and we played well in our tie with them."
