Lady Eagle sophs tie for 4th
in Frosh-Soph county meet

DENVILLE - Kristen Randolph won a gold medal and Alyssa Brindle had a second and a third as the Morris Knolls High School girls sophomore track & field team finished in a tie for fourth (with Butler) in the Morris County Frosh-Soph Track & Field Championships sophomore girls division at the meet held Saturday, May 15, at Madison High School.
The Lady Eagles scored 32 points as Parsippany won the team title with 72.5 points; sister-school Morris Hills came in second with 50 points; Whippany Park placed third with 34 points and Morris Knolls and Butler each finished with 32 points to round out the top five teams in the 23-team field.
Randolph finished first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.00 to win the only gold medal of the meet for the Lady Eagles.
Brindle was second in the 1600 with a time of 5:28.86 and finished third in the 800 in 2:28.66.
Amber Miller cleared 9-0 to finish third in the pole vault and the other sophomore girls points came when the 4x400-meter relay team of Randolph, Brindle, Rachel Schweon and Anna Kedizerska finished fifth..
In the girls freshman meet, Andrea Bush got the only Lady Eagles' gold medal as Knolls scored 36.33 points to finish in sixth place.
Kinnelon won the team title with 57 points with Jefferson (48 points), Mendham (47 points), Pequannock (42 points) and Morristown (38 points) completing the top five in the 25-team field.
Bush won the 400-meter dash in 1:00.05.
Alyssa Wardrop scored points in two events, finishing second in the discus with a throw of 81-8 and throwing 25-9 to finish fifth in the shot put.
Taylor Henderson was second in the 400 with a time of 1:00.66; Miranda Goscicki finished in a three-way tie for fourth in the pole vault when she cleared 6-0; Camile Chow was fifth in the 100 hurdles in 18.09; and the 4x400 relay team of Bush, Taylor Henderson, Priscilla Ortiz and Brianna Reggiani finished fourth.

Furman, Jarvis capture titles in county meet
DENVILLE - Senior Taylor Furman and junior Jennifer Jarvis each won gold medals to lead the Morris Knolls High School girls track & field team to a second-place finish in the Morris County Track & Field Championships held at Boonton High School.
The two-day meet started on Tuesday, May 11, and, after it was delayed a day by rain, the meet was concluded on Thursday, May 13.
The Lady Eagles finished with 47 points to trail only team champion Randolph, which scored 105 points. Hanove Park and Mendham each scored 44 points to tie for third and Morristown finished with 38.5 points to round out the top five teams.
Furman won her gold medal in the discus where she and Jarvis finished 1-2. Furman's best throw was a 116-5, good enough to beat her teammate's best of 115-11.
Jarvis won her county title in the javelin, where her throw of 116-1 was a bit more than seven feet farther than runnerup Hali Deters of Chatham.
Continuing their solid performances in the throws, Jarvis finished third in the shot with a throw of 38-1.5 and Furman's throw of 36-2 was gave her a fifth-place finish.
Jarvis and Furman scored 36 of Morris Hills' 47 team points in the throws with Jarvis finishing with 24 points and Furman 12. Furman also added another team point to the Knolls books when she finished sixth in 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.60.
The Lady Eagles also picked up third-place points in the 400-meter run and the 4x400-meter relay.
Freshman Andrea Bush finished fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:00.78 and then teamed up with fellow freshman Taylor Henderson, sophomore Kristen Randolph and junior Jazmin Henderson to finish fourth in the relay with a time of 4:04.80.
Two more sixth-place finishes concluded the scoring for the Lady Knights when Jazmin Henderson finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.14 and Randolph finished sixth in the 400 in 1:01.26.

Lady Eagles finish 3rd at NJAC meet
DENVILLE - Morris Knolls swept the throws three gold medals to lead the Lady Eagles to a third-place finish in a field of 14 teams that scored points at the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference's Large School Girls Track & Field Championships held at Morris Hills High School on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 4-5.
Morris Knolls scored 61 points to finish well off the pace set by Randolph and Sparta, which tied for first place after each team had scored 105 points.
Senior Taylor Furman and junior Jen Jarvis accounted for 56 of the 61 team points scored by the Lady Eagles.
Jarvis won the shot put and javelin and placed second in the discus to account for 28 team points.
Furman scored in four events for another 28 team points as she won the discus, ran second in the 100-meter hurdles, finished third in the shot, and placed fourth in the triple jump.
Jarvis won the javelin with a throw of 119-feet, 5-inches, almost 17 feet farther than runnerup Allissa Hoffman of Mount Olive. Jarvis and Furman finished 1-3 in the shot with Jarvis winning with a throw of 40-4 and Furman picking up six team points with a throw of 37-6.25.
Furman and Jarvis finished 1-2 in the discus with Furman out-distancing her teammate, 114-10 to 113-4. Furman finished second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.50, just .26 of a second off the winning time of Morristown senior Krystal Ellis, who won with a time of 15.24. Furman's final points came in the triple jump when she cleared 34-9.
The Lady Eagles other team points were posted by the 4x400 relay team of freshman Andrea Bush, freshman Taylor Henderson, sophomore Kristin Randolph and junior Jazmin Henderson, which finished fifth in 4:08.96; Karley Kamovitch, who cleared 15-10.25 to finish sixth in the long jump; Randolph, who finished sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:08.03; and Jazmin Henderson, who was timed in 1:00.58 to finish sixth in the 400.

Throws sweep leads MK to second place in county relays
DENVILLE - The Morris Knolls High School girls track & field team won all three throwing events as the Lady Eagles scored 56 points to finish in a tie for second place with Morristown in the Morris County Relay Championships held Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, at Morris Knolls.
Randolph scored 86 points to win the team title with Hanover Park finishing fourth with 46 points and Morris Hills fifth with 39 points. In all, 19 teams scored points in the meet.
The Lady Eagles scored in nine of the 16 events, adding a second in the 4x100, a third in the triple jump, fourths in the 1600-meter sprint medley and 4x200; and fifths in the long jump and pole vault to their three gold medals in the shot put, discus and javelin.
Junior Jen Jarvis led the way with meet-best throws of 39-feet, 5-inches in the shot and 120-4 in the discus and a 104-7 in the javelin, where she finished fifth best.
In the shot, senior Taylor Furman threw a meet second-best 37-6.25 and sophomore Samantha Taitel added a 30-10 for a combined 105-1.5, the only team to break 100 as Randolph finished second with a combined 99-0.5.
In the discus, Furman had another meet second-best of 115-5 and junior Keri Bongo added a 90-10 for a combined 326-7, the only team to pass the 300-foot mark and 39-5 better than runnerup Hanover Park.
In the javelin, Bongo threw a 99-4 and senior Courftney Houtsma added an 89-11 for a combined 293-7, almost 18 feet farther than runnerup Mendham.
The 4x100 team of junior Jazmin Henderson, Furman and freshmen Taylor Henderson and Andrea Bush posted a 50.32 for their second-place finish. Their time was just .32 off the old record and 1.03 behind race-winner and new record holder Randolph, which stopped the clock in 49.49.
In the triple jump, Furman had a meet best 34-5.25 to spark the Lady Eagles' third-place finish; junior Karley Kamovitch cleared 33-6.5; and junior Megan Fredericks posted a 30-3.50 for a combined 98-3.25.
The Henderson sisters, Bush and sophomore Alyssa Brindle were timed in 4:22.41 for their fourth-place finish in the 1600 sprint medley.
In the 4x200, sophomore Kristen Randolph, Bush and the Henderson sisters placed fourth with a time of 1:47.36.
In the long jump, Kamovitch had the meet's third best effort with her 16-7.25, just .75 of an inch behind gold medal winner Bria Henry of Hanover Park, who cleared 16-8. Randolph cleared 15-3 and Fredericks cleared 15-1.5 to give the Lady Eagles their fifth-place finish with a combined 46-11.75.
Sophomore Amber Miller cleared 9-0 and sophomore Monica Wojciechowski and junior Raven Gomez each cleared 7-6 for a combined 24-0 good for another fifth-place finish.
