Graybush, Driscoll goals earn tie with Mtn. Lakes -
DENVILLE - Haley Graybush and Hanna Driscoll each scored second-half goals within a three-minute time span when the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team rallied to tie Mountain Lakes, 2-2, in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game held at RVA Fields in Boonton Township on Sunday, June 12, 2011. The tie was the fourth of the season for the Red Devils, who finish tied for third place in Flight 5 with a 3-4-3 (wins, ties, losses) record. Mountain Lakes got goals from Nina Calderone at the 33-minute mark of the first half and Sarah Scelsa just one minute later to build its 2-0 halftime lead. Graybush was assisted by Driscoll on the Red Devils' first goal and Driscoll scored what proved to be the tying goal with an assist from Jenna Kramer just three minutes later. Maddie Somogyi and Emilee Stone split the goaltending duties with Somogyi finishing with four first-half saves and Stone stopping the only shot that reached her in the second half. The Red Devils got only one shot on goal in the first half - by Stone - and had four shots stopped in the second half, one each by Laura Budwick, Brigette LaRiccia, Perrine Long and Driscoll. --- Red Devils tie Randolph, 1-1, on Budwick's goal DENVILLE - Laura Budwick scored 29 minutes into the game and the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11-girls travel team battled to a 1-1 tie with the Randoph Wave in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Veterans Memorial Field off Zeek Road here on Friday, June 10, 2011. Budwick scored with an assist from Emilee Stone answering Randolph's goal that came at the 19-minute mark. Maddie Somogyi and Jayme Drucker split the goaltending duties for the Red Devils with each finishing with five saves. Denville had 14 shots on goal during the game. Hanna Driscoll had five while Budwick finished with four and Haley Graybush had two. Ava Ritchie, Brigette LaRiccia and Jenna Kramer each had one shot on net. The next game for the Red Devils is a 1 p.m. start on Sunday, June 12, against Mountain Lakes at the RVA Fields in Boonton Township. --- Randolph scores early to nip Red Devils, 1-0 DENVILLE - The Randolph Wave scored the only goal of the contest 10 minutes into the game and held on for a 1-0 victory over the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Heisteins Park in Randolph on Sunday, June 5, 2011. The Red Devils finished with six shots on goal for the game - one each by Ava Ritchie and Laura Budwick in the first half and four by Hanna Driscoll in the second half. Maddie Somogyi was in goal the entire game for Denville and finished with seven saves. The Red Devils next game is scheduled for Friday, June 10, a 7:30 p.m. start against the Randolph Waves again, this time at Veterans Memorial Field off Zeek Road. --- Red Devils 'play it close' at Randolph tourney DENVILLE - The Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team played three games decided by a goal and tied the fourth at the Randolph Memorial Day Tournament at Brundage Carrell Field in Randolph on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29, 2011. The Red Devils opened with a 2-1 loss to the Independence Comets and a 1-0 loss to the Randoph Wave on Saturday before turning it around the next day with a 2-1 victory over Roxbury and playing Staten Island to a 1-1 deadlock. Denville scored the first goal in the game against the Comets when Elyhse Halpern connected 17 minutes into the game with an assist from Hanna Driscoll. The Comets tied the game with a goal six minutes into the second half and then scored the winner four minutes later. Maddie Somogyi and Jayme Drucker split the keeper duties with Somogyi stopping two shots in the first half and Drucker finishing with six saves in the second half. Laura Budwick had four shots on goal in the second half for the Red Devils. Against Randolph, the Wave scored the only goal of the game in the first minute of play. Somogyi had three saves in the first half and Emilee Stone stopped five second-half shots for the Red Devils. Graybush had three shots on goal and Stone and Driscoll each had one. Driscoll scored both goals in the Red Devils victory over Roxbury, scoring with an assist from Ava Ritchie 14 minutes into the game and then scoring the game-winner on a penalty kick eight minutes into the second half. Somogyi was in goal the entire game for Denville and finished with 12 saves. The Red Devils finished with only four shots on goal - three by Driscoll's two goals and one by Graybush. The Red Devils fell behind 1-0 after only three minutes of their game against Staten Island, but were able to catch up when Somogyi scored unassisted 25 minutes into the game. Stone and Somogyi split the goaltending duties and each finished with one save. Denville had five shots on goal for the game - two by Driscoll and one each by Budwick and Graybush. --- Budwick nets both goals in 5-2 loss to North Caldwell DENVILLE - Laura Budwick's two first-half goals staked the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team to a 2-1 lead at the half only to see North Caldwell score all four goals of the second half and escape with a 5-2 victory in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Magnusson Field, North Caldwell, on Sunday, May 22, 2011. The home team took an early 1-0 lead but Budwick came back and scored two goals - both with assists from Hanna Driscoll - to give the Red Devils a one-goal lead at the break. North Caldwell took over the game in the second half, however, and held the Red Devils scoreless while going on a four-goal run tgo account for the final score. Maddie Soimogyi was in golf for the entire game for the Red Devils and, according to one of the Red Devils' coaches, she finished the game with 14 saves and kept the score from getting out of hand with some remarkable stops. The next game for the Red Devils is scheduled for Sunday, June 5, against the Randolph Wave at Randolph's Heistein's Park at 2:30 p.m. --- Graybush first-half goal beats Jaguars, 1-0 DENVILLE - Haley Graybush scored the only goal of the game late in the first half when the Denville HUB Red Devils U11 girls travel team held off the West Jersey Jaguars, 1-0, in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game held at Lower Knuth Field here on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Graybush scored with an assist from Nikki Effner with five minutes to play in the first half. Elyse Halpern had to stop but one shot in the first half and Maddie Somogyi had five second-half saves to share the shutout victory. Driscoll scored five minutes into the game when her shot on goal went in off a defender. Six minutes later, she scored an unassisted goal to give the Red Devils a 2-0 lead. Budwick got her two goals within a three-minute span late in the half. She scored with an assist from Maddie Somogyi 30 minutes into the game and then added an unassisted goal three minutes later, scoring with two minutes left to play in the half. Stone was called upon to make five saves during her first-half stint in goal while Somogyi stopped two shots in the second half when she was in the nets for the Red Devils. Driscoll finished with five shots on goal; Budwick had three; Haley Graybush had two; and Bridget LaRiccia, Somogyi and Stone each had one. The Mustangs scored their first goal seven minutes into the second half and then added their second score 25 minutes into the half. Jayme Drucker and Maddie Somogyi shared the goaltending duties for the Red Devils and finished the game with a combined four saves. The Red Devils were limited to five shots on goal for the game - three by Hanna Driscoll and one each by Laura Budwick and Somogyi. --- Budwick, Somogyi, Driscoll score in 3-1 win over Madison DENVILLE - Laura Budwick and Maddie Somogyi scored first-half goals and Hanna Driscoll added an insurance goal in the second half when the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team beat the Madison Magic, 3-1, in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Veterans Memorial Field off Zeek Road here on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Budwick scored on an asisst from Haley Grybush and Somogyi scored her goal with two minutes left in the half with an assit from Laura Budwick. The Magic got on the board early in the second half but Driscoll scored her goal unassisted later in the half to restore the two-goal lead. Elyse Halpern and Somogyi split the goaltending duties for the Red Devils with Halpern stopping four first-half shots and Somogyi finishing with six saves in the second half. The Red Devils had 11 shots on goal agains the Magic with Budwick getting six; Driscoll and Graybush each getting two; and Jenna Kramer finishing with one.

DENVILLE - Laura Budwick scored five minutes into the second half to give the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team a 1-1 tie with the West Jersey Jaguars in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at the Harmony Township Recreation Fields on Sunday, April 17, 2011. West Jersey had taken a 1-0 lead at the 24-minute mark of the first half before Budwick scored unassisted to end the scoring for the day. West Jersey had but five shots on goal and Denville finished with six shots - three each by Haley Graybush and Budwick. Jayme Drucker and Emilee Stone split the keeper duties for Denville and each finished with two saves during her half of work. The Red Devils face the Madison Magic in their next game, a 2 p.m. contest that is scheduled to be played on Verterans Memorial Field here off Zeek Road on Sunday, May 7.

2010 SEASON Driscoll scores 2 goals

DENVILLE - Hanna Driscoll scored two goals and added an assist when the Denville HUB Red Devils U11 girls travel team completed its fall schedule in the Morris County Youth Soccer Association with a 6-0 win over Morris United in a game played at Morristown High School on Sunday, Nov. 21. The Red Devils had a record of four wins, four losses and a tie to finish in a tie for fourth place in the eight-team Flight 4 division of their age group. Elyse Halpern and Maddie Somogyi split the goaltending duties for the Red Devils and Halpern had two first-half saves and Somogyi had one save in the second half to share the shutout. Somogyi opened the scoring for the Red Devils by converting a corner kick from Driscoll. Emilee Sone followed with an unassisted goal and Driscoll scored the first of her two goals with an assist from Haley Graybush to give Denville a 3-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Driscoll scored her second goal with an assist from Laura Budwick; Budwick then made it 5-0 with an assist from Stone; and Jayme Drucker closed out the scoring for the game with an unassisted goal.

DENVILLE - Laura Budwick scored two goals and Maddie Somogyi added one as the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team ralled for a 3-1 victory over North Caldwell in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Upper Knuth Field here on Sunday, Nov. 14. North Caldwell took an early 1-0 lead, but Somogyi scored on a pass from Haley Graybush to send the game into halftime tied at 1-1. Budwick scored both her goals in the second half, getting what proved to be the winning goal on a pass from Bridget LaRiccia and scoring an inurance goal unassisted. Emilee Stone was in goal for the Red Devils in the first half and finished with five saves. Jayme Drucker was the Denville keeper in the second half and stopped both shots she faced. The next game for the Red Devils is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, against the Morris United Mavericks at Morristown High School.

DENVILLE - The Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team and Verona battled to a 0-0 standoff in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Lower Knuth Field here on Sunday, Nov. 7. Elyse Halpern and Maddie Somogyi split the keeper duties for the Red Devils with Halpern stopping the only shot she saw in the first half and Somogyi also finishing with one save for her second-half play. Haley Graybush was able to put five shots on net for the Red Devils for the game; Hanna Driscoll and Laura Budwick each finished with four shots on goal. The Red Devils face the North Caldwell Thunder in their next game, a 1 p.m. contest at Upper Knuth Fields on Sunday, Nov. 14.

DENVILLE - Laura Budwick scored the game's only goal with three minutes left in the game when the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team beat West Jersey, 1-0, in a Morris County Youth Association game played at Gardner Field on Sunday, Oct. 31. Morgan DeLoreto got the assist on a perfectly-placed throw-in to Budwick. Emilee Stone and Jayme Drucker split the goaltending duties for the Red Devils with Stone stopping two shots in the first half and Drucker preserving the shutout with four saves in the second half. The Red Devils were held without a shot on goal in the first half while Budwick was able to put three shots on net during the second half of the defensive struggle. The next game for the Red Devils is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, against the Verona Velocity at lower Knuth Fields. Game time is 1 p.m.

DENVILLE - The Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team ran into a hot Wallkill Valley squad this past Sunday, Oct. 24, and lost a 5-0 decision in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at the Hardyston Sports Complex. Laura Budwick had two shots on net and Jayme Drucker added one for the Red Devils while Maddie Somogyi and Elyse Halpern split the goaltending duties and finished with a combined eight saves. The Red Devils play West Jersey on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Gardner Field here. Game time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Red Devils split pair of weekend games
DENVILLE - The Denville HUB Soccer Red Devil U11 girls travel team split a pair of 1-0 games in Morris County Youth Soccer Association play this past weekend, beating Verona, 1-0, on Saturday, Oct. 16, and losing to Mountain Lakes by the same score on Sunday, Oct. 17. In the game against Verona, played at Centennial Field in Verona, Haley Graybush scored the only goal of the game in the 67th minute of play. She was assisted by Hanna Driscoll and Perrine Long. The Red Devil defense was so strong that neither Emilee Stone, the first-half keeper, nor Maddie Somogyi, the second-half keeper, recorded any saves. The defensive players who kept the Verona forwards from getting any shots on goal included Kristen Gioloso, Ava Ritchie, Jayme Drucker, Morgan DeLoreto, Giana Franklin and Stone. The shoe was on the other foot on the next day at Knuth Fields in Denville when the Mountain Lakes defense limited the Red Devils to three shots on goal - two by Maddie Somogyi and one by Laura Budwick - all in the first half. Mountain Lakes scored its goal in the first three minutes of the game. Elyse Halpern and Jayme Drucker split the keeper duties for the Red Devils and each finished with two saves. Next up for the Red Devils is a game against the Wallkill Valley Warriors on Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Hardyston Sports Complex at 3 p.m.

DENVILLE - The Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team suffered a 2-0 shutout loss at the hands of High Point in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at Woodbourne Park in High Point on Sunday, Oct. 3. High Point scored a goal in each half - in the 25th minute of the first half and the 18th minute of the second - for its victory. Emilee Stone and Elyse Halpern split the keeper duties for the Red Devils with Stone making three saves in the first half and Halpern stopping nine shots in the second half. The Red Devils will participate in the Parsippany Pride Columbus Weekend Tournament on Friday through Sunday, Oct. 8-9-10, in Parsippany before returning to their MCYSA schedule on Saturday, Oct. 16, with a 6:30 p.m. game against the Verona Velocity at Centennial Field in Verona.

Graybush scored the only goal of the first half with Maddie Somogyi and Bridget LaRiccia getting the assists on the play. Driscoll scored an unasissted goal in the second half and Graybush followed with her second goal with an assist from Emilee Stone. After United scored to pull to within two goals at 3-1, Driscoll scored her second goal of the game off a pass from Graybush. Jayme Drucker was in the Red Devil goal for the first half and finished with two saves. Somogyi, who took over the keeper duties for Denville in the second half, also stopped two shots on goal. The Red Devils face the High Point Lady Wildcats next on Sunday, Oct. 3, at Woodbourne Park at High Point in a 3 p.m. game.

Graybush scored her first goal with an assist by Kristen Gioioso and then made it 2-0 when she scored again, this time with an assist from Bridget LaRiccia. Emilee Stone and Jayme Drucker were in goal for a half each as they shared the keeper duties and the shutout for the Red Devils.

DENVILLE - Maddie Somogyi got the only goal for the Denville HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls travel team in a 2-1 loss to North Caldwell in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played at North Caldwell's Liberty Field on Sunday, Sept. 19. Somogyi's goal came in the second half on an assist by Bridget LaRiccia after North Caldwell had scored both of its goals in first-half action. Somogyi was the first-half goalie for the Red Devils and she finished with four saves before Elyse Halpern came in and stopped all three shots she faced in the second half. Next up for the Red Devils is a 2:30 p.m. game against the Morris United Mavericks on Sunday, Sept. 26, with the game scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.

Red Devils go 2-1-1 in Roxbury Classic
DENVILLE - The HUB Soccer Red Devils U11 girls traveling soccer team had a productive warm-up for the 2010 fall season when they finished 2-1-1 in four games at the 20 annual Roxbury Kickoff Classic held the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, August 28-29, at Horseshoe Lake Park in the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township. An estimated 2,000 youth soccer players representing 134 teams from the tri-state area participated in the tournament. Each team playing two games each day and one of the features of the tournament was that coaches picked an MVP from the opposing side at the end of each game. The Red Devils opened play Saturday with a 3-0 victory over the Roxbury Rampage as game MVP Hannah Driscoll scored two goals and added an assist; Haley Graybush scored a goal; and Kristen Gioioso assisted on one of Driscoll's goals. Elyse Halpern and Jayme Drucker shared the keeper's duties and the shutout. The second game on Saturday was a 1-1 tie with the Hanover Cheetahs with Driscoll again getting the game MVP. Driscoll provided the assist on Graybush's goal in the closing seconds of the game to create the tie. Emilee Stone and Maddie Somogyi split the goaltending duties and finished with a combined 12 saves. On Sunday, The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 loss to the Roxbury Revolution as Graybush scored the only goal for the Denville squad. Game MVP Drucker stopped 10 shots on goal in the first half and Halpern made seven second-half saves. The Red Devils completed their tournament play with a 1-0 victory over the Mountain Lakes Storm with game MVP Halpern. Somogyi and Stone shared the keeper's duties and the shutout. The Red Devils will compete in Flight 4 in their age group in the Morris County Youth Soccer League this season. The team opens play in the MCYSL on Sunday, Sept. 19, at North Caldwell at a time and field to be determined.
