DENVILLE - Rami Habib, Malaak Hamzeh, David D'Achille and Julien Braddock each scored two goals as the Denville HUB Soccer Golden Eagles U16 boys travel soccer team defeated the Pequannock Power Panthers, 8-2, in a Morris County Youth Soccer Association game played in the rain at Pequannock's Greenview Field on Sunday, April 25.
The victory was the first for the Golden Eagles after opening the season with two ties. Pequannock fell to 0-3 with the loss.
Adam Engelson, Kyle Rand and Juan Terrios Rincon each has two assists for the Golden Eagles while Habib added one.
Mario Prassas played the entire game in the Denville nets and finished with five saves with one of the Pequannock goals coming on a penalty shot in the 70th minute of play.
Habib broke a scoreless tie in the 20th minute; Hamzeh scored in the 40th minute and added his second goal three minutes later as the Eagles took a 3-0 halftime lead.
Pequannock scored in the 56th minute but the Eagles scored four unanswered goals a six-minute span to put Denville comfortably ahead, 7-1.
D'Achille scored in the 63rd and 65th minutes; Habib scored his second goal in the 67th minutes; and Braddock finished the four-goal flurry by scoring his first goal at the 69-minute mark.
Pequannock converted its penalty kick a minute later and Braddock ended the scoring for the day when he scored an unassisted goal in the 80th minute.
The Golden Eagles meet the Roxbury Express at Roxbury's Emmans-16 Field on Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m.
