Best Friends - Dan Kaspar, Cory Mundt and Matt Hayes of Morris Hills and Conor Nolan and Mike Boylan of Morris Knolls have been friends for years, growing up and playing against each other and with each other on varsious youth teams. When Morris Hills beat Morris Knolls, 34-31, in basketball in the 2009-2010 season, it was the first time they have ever faced off against each other in high school varsity competition. There was a good reason why the three players from Hills didn't gloat over the win.

Road Running - Denville's Jessica Garrabrant ran in her second NYC Marathon in the fall of 2009 and finished with a better time than the first time. She's looking forward to doing even better in her third try.

Yankee Parade - 10-year-old Connor Walsh of Denville got to see his heroes up close when he and his family and some friends went to the Yankee World Series Celebration Parade in NYC in November of 2009.

The River - Rob Grow, co-owner of Potbelly's Riverside Cafe in Rockaway, has been "cleaning up" the Rockaway River in town since he was a kid. This past fall, he took a kayak "scouting trip" down the river looking to target new areas for his second annual "Rockaway River Spring Cleanup" in April of 2010.

Herd State Champs - We don't usually cover our Mountain Lakes neighbors, but the Herd's second straight unbeaten and state championship football season under coach Doug Wilkins - a Denville resident - is certainly worth a pictorial and numerical salute.
