Esposito Electric captures Denville Farm Division title -
DENVILLE - Esposito Electric captured the 2011 Denville Little League Farm Division championship by winning the first two games of its best-of-three series with the Knolls/Hills Staff team. Esposito Electric won the first game, 9-1, on Sunday, June 12, and came back to win the second game, 11-1, to finish the season with a 10-1-1 record. Both games were played at Gardner Field here. Jonathan Blum, Michael DeNucci and John Sheridan each pitched two innings in each game and gave up a combined two runs on three hits while getting 29 of the 36 outs by strikeouts. Individually, Blum gave up no runs on one hit and struck out nine in his four innings; DeNucci gave up one run on two hits while striking out 11; and Sheridan pitched hitless ball for his four innings, allowing but one unearned run while striking out nine. Each of the 11 players on the roster registered at least one hit or scored at least one run to spark an offense that generated 20 runs on 17 hits. Ryan McAndrew finished the two-game series with three hits, including a double and a triple, and scored two runs; Sheridan also had three hits and scored four runs; Blum finished with three hits with a double and two runs scored. DeNucci had two hits with a homer and three runs scored; Andrew Rush also had two hits with a run scored. Ethan Belen finished with one hit and two runs scored; Justin Montan finished the series with one hit; Bryan Kiely had one hit and scored once; Gianagelo DiChio had a hit and scored three times; and Jody Conte and Vincenzo Rocha each scored one run. The team had its defensive highlights also, according to manager Lee Blum. "Andrew Rush made a great defensive play at second base in the second game," Blum said. "And Justin Montan did a solid job at catcher in the three innings he played each game." Mike Belen, Nick DeNucci and Pat McAndrew were coaches on the team.

Norman Dean early spurt turns back Five Guys, 11-4

DENVILLE - Norman Dean scored five runs in each of the first two innings and went on to record an 11-4 victory over Five Guys Burgers in a Denville Little League Baseball Minors Division gameplayed at Gardner Field on Wednesday, April 20, 2011.
In the first inning, Tyler Thomson singled in Konner Ingram and Michael Amoresano; David Giansanti added an RBI double; and Jideofer Njeze singled in Giansanti and Nick Walles for a 5-0 lead.
Norman Dean made it 10-0 in the second inning when Jeremy Dreisbach doubled in two runs; Walles also drove in a pair of runs; and the fifth run scored on a bases-loaded walk. Andrew Muller, Amoresano, Dreisbach, Giansanti and Njeze each had two hits to lead Norman Dean's 15-hit attack. Konner Ingram, Tyler Migliore, Billy Tuttle, Thomson and Walles each finished with one hit. Dreisbach finished with three RBIs, Thomson and Njeze each had two; and Giansanti, Walles, Migliore and Tuttle each had one. Norman Dean manager Dave Giansanti used five pitchers in the game with Amoresano starting and going 1.2 shutout innings with four strikeouts while allowing no hits and walking three. Muller followed with 1.1 scoreless and hitless innings with three strikeouts; and Dreisbach, Ingram and Giansanti followed by each working one full inning.
