Game Day: The Denville Blue Angels compete in the Morris County Youth Football League on the varsity, junior varsity and peewee levels. The program also fields super peewee, clinic, pre-clinic and flag teams.

      DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen scored two touchdowns and Bryce Mott and Ryan Russo each scored one as the Denville Blue Angels super peewee team completed an unbeaten 10-0 season with a 26-0 victory over the Jr. Knights in a game played at Wharton's Robert Street Field on Saturday, Nov. 6.
     Greenhagen scored on a 37-yard TD run and Mott had a 31-yard TD run in the first quarter with quarterback Nick DeNucci running over the one-point PAT after Greenhagen's score to give the Blue Angels a 13-0 first-quarter lead.
      Greenhagen got the only TD of the second quarter to give Denville a 19-0 lead at the half. Russo caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from DeNucci in the third perod and Anthony Bogovic ran in the extra point to complete the scoring for the game.
      Greenhagen finished the game with 96 yards rushing on eight carries; Russo carried seven times for 36 yards; Mott's only carry resulted in his 31-yard TD run; Joe Taylor gained 25 yards in three carries; and Connor Eppel added six more yards on two carries.
      DeNucci finished the game by throwing for another 40 yards and his one TD on 3-for-5 passing. 
      Defensive highlights included fumble recoveries by DeNucci and Taylor and an intercepted pass by Micheal Seeley.

Greenhagen's 5 TDs help beat Dover

     DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen scored five touchdowns to lead the unbeaten Denville Blue Angels super peewee team to a 34-14 victory over Dover in a Morris County Youth Football League game played at Gardner Field on Friday, Oct. 22.
     Greenhagen finished the game with 193 yards on 11 carries as the  Blue Angels improved their record to 8-0 for the season.
     Greenhagen scored on runs of 5, 42 and 45 yards in the first quarter; added a 50-yard TD run in the third quarter; and capped off his big day with a 13-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
     Nick DeNucci scored on three one-point conversion runs and threw a pass to Ryan Russo for another to round out the scoring for Denville.
     DeNucci ran twice for an additional 33 rushing yards; Russo carried three times for 12 yards; and Joe Taylor had one carry for four yards.
     On defense, Connor Eppel, DeNucci and Russo each had fumble recoveries.

Scoring balance defeats Dover, 26-7

     DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen, David Kaiser and Nick DeNucci rushed for TDs and DeNucci threw a 40-yard scoring pass to Ryan Russo when the Denville Blue Angels super peewee team used a balanced scoring attack to beat Hackettstown, 26-7, in a Morris County Youth Football League game at Hackettstown on Saturday, Oct. 17.
    Greenhagen opened the scoring with a 28-yard scoring run in the first period and DeNucci and Russo connected on a 40-yard pass-and-run play for a second-quarter touchdown as the Blue Angels took a 13-0 lead at the half.
     Kaiser scored on a 44-yard reverse around the left side for the only points of the third period and DeNucci scored the Blue Angels' final TD when he ran 59 yards on a keeper.
     The Hackettstown Little Tigers scored their touchdown in the final quarter to avoid the shutout.
     DeNucci finished the game 3-for-5 passing for 45 yards and his one TD. He also carried the ball three times for 70 yards, the most of it on his touchdown run.
     Greenhagen rushed 11 times for 76 yards and a TD; David Kaiser added 47 yards on two carries and also ran for an extra point; Joey Taylor rushed twice for eight yards; and Kyle Bargfrede gained six yards on his only carry for the day.
     On defense, Taylor had an interception and Bargfrede finished with one quarterback sack.

DeNuccis' 2 TDs help Angels beat Boonton/ML

     DENVILLE - Nick DeNucci scored two TDs and Ryan Greenhagen scored once and rushed for 123 yards when the Denville Blue Angels peewee team defeated Boonton/Mountain Lakes, 27-0, at Gardner Field on Friday, Oct. 9.
     Greenhagen scored the first TD of the game on a 39-yard run and Ryan Russo ran for the extra point to give the Blue Angels a 7-0 first period lead.
     DeNucci scored his TDs on quarterback keepers, scoring from 18 yards out in the second quarter and taking it over from the 1-yard line in the third quarter. David Kaiser ran for the PAT after DeNucci's first TD and DeNucci passed to Russo for second PAT.
     Tight end Bryce Mott scored the final touchdown for Denville on a 48-yard end-around in the fourth period.
     Greenhagen finished the game with eight carries for a 15.3 yards-a-carry average as the Blue Angels rushed for 280 yards as a team on 33 carries, an average of 8.48 yards a carry.
     Mott was the second leading rusher with his 48 yards on his only carry; DeNucci gained 32 yards on three carries; Russo carried three times for 30 yards; and Joey Taylor carried the ball four times for 26 yards.
     Dylan Berchin, Anthony Bogovic, Billy Tuttle, John Polson, Rocco Napolitano, Michael Seeley and Kaiser also carried the ball to contribute to the yardage.

Greenhagen's 3 TDs help turn back Madison

       DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen scored three touchdowns in three different ways when the Denville Blue Angels defeated Madison, 28-6, in a Morris County Youth Football League super peewee game played at Gardner Field on Sunday, Oct. 3.
      Greenhagen returned the opening kickoff 68 yards for his first touchdown; returned a punt 47 yards for his second touchdown; and intercepted a pass and returned it 84 yards for his third TD of the game - all in the first half when Denville broke out to a 21-0 lead.
     Nick DeNucci scored the only touchdown of the second half when he went in from 16 yards out and Ryan Russo, David Kaiser, Bryce Mott and Joe Taylor completed the Denville scoring with one-point conversion runs.
      DeNucci, Kaiser, Mott, Russo, Taylor and Greenhagen combined for 78 yards rushing against a solid Madison defense that gave up but one TD during the game.
      Taylor led the Blue Angels defense in tackles with six.

Greenhagen's 3 TDs spark 25-6 victory

     DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another as the Denville Blue Angel super peewee team defeated Hanover, 25-6, in a Morris County Youth Football League game played at the Bee Meadow School in Whippany on Saturday, Sept. 25.
     Blue Angel quarterback Nick Denucci threw a screen pass to Greenhagen who took it 47 yards for a first-period TD; Denucci scored on a 62-yard run; and, after Hanover scored its only TD of the game, Greenhagen sent Denville into the half with a 19-6 lead by scoring on a 66-yard run on the last play of the first half.
     Greenhagen scored the only points of the third period when he broke loose for a 62-yard touchdown run.

     Bryce Mott completed the scoring for the Blue Agnels with a one-point conversion run.
     Greenhagen finished with 112 yards rushing on four carries; Denucci ran twice for another 61 yards; and Ryan Russo and Tommy Romano also picked up yardage for Denville.
     The defense held Hanover to minus-11 yards for the game as Charlie Blood and Joe Taylor led the team in tackles with four each and Romano had a pass interception.

Greenhagen, Kaiser TDs too much for Hopatcong

     DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen and David Kaiser each scored two touchdowns and the Blue Angel defense came up with its third straight shutout when Denville beat Hopatcong, 34-0, in a Morris County Youth Football League super peewee game held on Friday, Sept. 17, at Gardner Field here.
     Both Greenhagen and Kaiser rushed only two times in the game, Greenhagen scoring on runs of 26 and 38 and Kaiser adding TD runs of 38 and 20 yards.
 Ryan Russo scored the other Denville TD on a 25-yard run and Joe Taylor, Bryce Mott, Kaiser and Russo each ran for a one-point conversion.
     Linemen Charlie Blood, Kyle Bargfrede, Bill Tuttle, Connor Eppel and Dylan Berchin keyed a defense that allowed Hopatcong only two yards total offense for the game. Alec Shea chipped in with his second interception of the season.
     On offense, no back rushed more than twice as Greenhagen led the way with 64 yards and was followed by Kaiser (54), DeNucci (36), Russo (25), Taylor (14), Tommy Romano (9) and Michael Seeley (8) for a total of 210 yards total rushing.
     The offensive line of Bargfrede, Blood, Tuttle, Berchin and Eppell also drew praise from the Blue Angel coaches for their solid blocking for their running back teammates.
     The victory was the third in as many outing for the Blue Angels, who have outscored their opposition, 93-0, for the season.

Greenhagen 3 TDs, Blue Angel defense keys  in 39-0 victory

      DENVILLE - Ryan Greenhagen scored three touchdowns and the Denville defense held Lenape Valley to minus-8 yards on offense as the Blue Angels improved to 2-0 with a 39-0 victory over Lenape Valley in a Morris County Youth Football League super peewee division game played at Lenape Valley on Saturday, Sept. 11.
      Greenhagen scored on runs of 49, 24 and 60 yards to finish with 133 rushing yards on only three carries as the Blue Angels scored on each of its six possessions during the game.
      David Kaiser scored on a 39-yard run; Johnny Polson added a 1-yard TD plunge; Tommy Romano scored on a 2-yard run; and Nick DeNucci, Bryce Mott and Kaiser each ran for a one-point conversion to round out the scoring.
      Kaiser finished with 60 yards rushing on only three carries; Polson ran four times for 28 yards; and Russo, Seeley and Mott each carried once for a combined 26 yards to as the Blue Angels finished with 247 yards total rushing.

Early TDs lead to 20-0 win over Mt. Olive

      DENVILLE - The Denville Blue Angels super peewee team scored the first three times it had its hands on the ball to defeat Mount Olive, 20-0, in a season-opening Morris County Youth Football League game played at Gardner Field here on Saturday, Sept. 4.
      Ryan Greenhagen put the Blue Angels on top quickly when he returned the opening-game kickoff 65 yards for a TD and a 6-0 lead that became 7-0 when Ryan Russo ran in for the extra point.
      After the Blue Angel defense forced Mount Olive into a four-and-out on its first possession, Nick DeNucci scored on a 27-yard run on Denville's first offensive play from scrimmage to give Denville a 13-0 lead. David Kaiser ran in the extra point for the Blue Angel's 14th point of the game.
      Denville got the ball back early in the second period and Blue Angel running back Ryan Russo had runs of 35 and 5 yards to set up a 15-yard TD run by DeNucci, DeNucci's second TD of the game and the last points scored by either team in the contest. 
      DeNucci ran the ball three times for 30 yards and two TDs and was 2-for-3 passing for another 28 yards.
      Russo finished with 40 yards on three carries; Kaiser rushed three times for 34 yards; and Greenhagen had 21 yards rushing on four carries to add to his big kickoff-return TD.
      The Blue Angels defensive unit allowed but one first down as Bryce Mott, Dylan Berchin, Kyle Bargfrede, Billy Tuttle and Russo finished the game with a combined 19 tackles. Alec Shea had the team's only interception, a pick on the last play of the game.

     Denville's next super peewee game is against Lenape Valley at Lenape Valley on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m.
